Winter Gardens, Weston-super-Mare
An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) was produced for Winter Gardens in Weston-super-Mare, completed in October 2017, providing a detailed assessment of the building’s energy performance and compliance with UK Building Regulations.
The evaluation considered the thermal performance of the building envelope, including its walls, glazing and complex roof construction, alongside the efficiency of fixed building services such as heating, ventilation and lighting systems. The assessment focused on regulated energy uses to determine the building’s overall EPC rating.
As a large and complex commercial building, the modelling reflected the varied spaces, occupancy requirements and associated building services within the Winter Gardens. Particular attention was given to accurately representing the building fabric, including the complex roof construction, together with the zoning and system inputs required to provide a robust assessment of energy performance.
The building achieved an EPC rating of B (34), demonstrating good energy performance and compliance with the relevant regulatory standards, while providing a clear assessment of the building's energy efficiency and opportunities for further improvement.
